Every person on this planet earth possess a hobby which they like to enjoy them and pass their free time. My favorite hobby is dancing so I like to dance whenever possible no matter what is the time. Since I started studying the English language in my school, the culture of English speaking countries it has fascinated me. Over the years I have had the opportunity to travel to several countries including Costa Rica, Peru, and Bolivia. Besides, I know many people from the USA, Germany, France and other countries. I really like the cultures of these countries, food, and language, but what I have discovered that my passion is dancing. It is a common theme among all countries. Even people who do not like to dance know the steps and accept it as a very important thing in their culture.

It is true that there is a difference in which dance is most popular or which has the historical prestige in each country or region but am very interested in how the dance brings people together and is an element of culture that has never missed. I love dancing so a short speech on dance. I am looking forward to continuing learning because dancing is something that gives me great joy. Aside from enjoying a lot of music and dance itself, I love how every dance has a history and is an integral part of Hispanic cultures. I want to learn more dance because I think it will help me better understand the cultures and histories of various countries.

In many countries, there are national dances but I think that other non -native dances of the country are gaining more popularity? Merengue, cambia, salsa, Durango, northern, tango — all are dances from different places in the Latin world, and many more. Each has its special music, specific steps, and unique outfit. Although I really like these aspects of the dances, some perhaps most important things are the stories, developments, and the ways in which the dances have affected the cultures they come from. I have some ideas for the following tests. I try to explain a short essay on dance and use the term and how it relates to others, such as dance, shape, and structure. These elusive terms are used by us as having a common meaning for everyone. Here I would like to explore its possible or probable meaning.

Our first task is to understand the meaning of the dance. This interaction takes place in the Helideck, a room generated by a computer that has the ability to play the type of room requested. Crusher asks the replica of a study tap-dance where he learned to dance as a child and was given the task of teaching tap dance to Mr. To thank you, Commander Data says that now can dance at a wedding at which he will attend shortly. Puzzled, Dr. Crusher explains that this type of dance can only run at certain events — one of the many inconsistencies of human classification systems have little logic for Mr.

Crusher fails to explain the aforementioned inconsistency and proceeds to teach Commander Data movement system — a totally different waltz assuring him that this time he can use it at the wedding. Commander Data to the problem was to understand the meaning of the dance. Even though Dr. Crusher could easily teach the structure and content of the two systems of movement, this was only the beginning. Equally important was the knowledge about the event itself, actors, observers and socio-political discourse conducted by the event, and they were difficult to explain.

Could it be that each type of dance differs in structure, or perhaps in style? Is the tap and ballroom dancing are two different styles of dance? I do not think so. But if the difference is not in style, what is it? Do these differences lie in the structure, style, shape, or something else? Often, problems seem to involve categorization and definition. What also surprised Commander Data it appeared to be the difference between Beverly Crusher waltz, a couple dancing the waltz and generated virtually bride. The difference is in style? When I see someone dancing, I feel that this is an expression of human nature so I started to dance in my private room alone on different music. I enjoy most of the music genre like rock, metal, classic or western.

When first time I dance, I used to be shy as I did not know many things related to dance that what are the steps or what everything is called related to dance. When the first time our dance teacher called me to show him steps I was very confused that how I can do it or what I should show him? I started to show some steps to my teacher so everyone in the class laughs at me due to the clumsy steps I took. Then our teacher encouraged me to show him more and then the story begins. As days passed, the teacher came to our class and mostly called me to do the dance. He started to teach me so many steps and gave me encouragement about how I have to behave in front of a large audience.

He told me to read about Charleston dance style as it was very popular in the USA since the s and it was a very face-paced dance that is strongly syncopated means it is much unstressed with musical beats, movements, and steps. This name is taken or derived from Charleston in South Carolina which is danced by more than two people but it was a solo African-American dance. This dance was accepted in as a ballroom dance. Our teacher told us that these movements of Charleston came from Trinidad, Ghana or Nigeria. He also told me that there are many experts that believed that this dance first appears in in different black communities and taken by Whitman sisters stage act in at Harlem production in We also came to know that it became famous in when the first debut in the musical as Running Wild.

When the day arrives for me to compete in the dancing competition that I have to put everything I have learned in years. I seldom get exhausted on the floor on dancing even I am dancing alone in my home and I never want to give up because my urge is to be the best dancer in my school. I found that one must keep doing dance in the spare time in order to become expert in this sport. One must also make sure their customer also matches the music they are dancing on. When you perform in front of many people that is the most exciting part. We make sure that our hair, clothes, makeup are according to a situation before we hit the floor.

When our team is next in the line, everyone in the team feels excited to show their latent talent on the stage. When we are on the stage all dancers are hooking up and waiting for their turn to show it to the audience. After announcers announce our team name, we just dance our head out in the middle of the floor with full zeal. We received a standing ovation when the music ends and everyone in the hall stands up and we walk back to our room filled with excitement and anxiously waiting to receive the award in the award ceremony.

When every time is done from their part, we were waiting to get awarded if our name comes into the three best teams. Finally, we heard that the school that took second place is … [school name]. Suddenly, excited screams fill at the stage which made every dancer of our team jumping, hugging and screaming with joy with one another as a second-place we took in our first competition of year [year]. We visited our family to cheer them too and our friends too. When we bring gifts to our family and friends like shirts, ice cream or flowers are our exciting moment. We advise dancers not to eat much before dancing so they can easily make dancing moves. We often exchange hugs and give best wishes to every dancer that they also take any position in the competition. With or without a partner, a series set of movements of music is said to be a dance.

With this definition, we express our feelings and get active after it. We know that dance is also a part of our history that date back to cave paintings found in Spain and France from 30, to 15, BC with drawings that are vivid of figures dancing with ritual illustration in early human history. Many people consider it as a life that came down to earth from heavens. History of dance often changes the way people see the world and experience their life with it. We love to dance when we are in our childhood. We love to make moves without hesitation and love to enjoy them anywhere even before going to bed.

Our history teacher told us that dance evolved into praise songs and enacted by actors or dancers and near the end of 5 th century BC, we came to know that dance is the part of entertainment and it offers political and social commentary on that times. The teacher told us that Romans dance waxed and waned in the acceptance with the CEASERS they were ruled with but till BC we came to know that dance brought life to celebrations, processions and festivals but again in BC all schools in Roman Empire for dancing were closed because they felt to be suspicious and dangerous. Since ancient times we know there are many similarities when people learned these dance to express themselves with their problems, beliefs, emotions, and actions.

We also do the same things in dance with our feelings and thoughts. We also understand that in future we will be reflected with our dance in our society with many times of dances like line dancing, slow dancing, ballet, and the list goes on and one.

The material perception of paradise presents an interesting dynamic to the Islamic meaning of life because many people already have the material wealth, as promised in the Quran. However, many wealthy people are unsatisfied. People do not only meet such needs through sensual delights and materialism. In fact, people treasure non-monetary things, like family and marriage, because they are important to their lives. Nonetheless, since people are naturally selfish, their needs are often met in an unbalanced way.

The above view does not mean that Islamic teachings about the meaning of life are wrong. This view shows that although both religions may have slightly different views about the purpose of life, they are largely similar. This paper argues that the meanings of life in Christianity and Islam are largely similar. The two religions say the meaning of life stems from the teachings of a central power — God. Islam teaches all its believers to follow the teachings of Allah and live according to his ways if they want to live in paradise Jannah. Therefore, Islam converges with Christianity by recognizing the need for people to draw closer to God and enjoy their afterlife. Comprehensively, this paper shows that the Christian and Islamic teachings of life are more similar than they are different.

If he relates human lives to Sisyphus, this individual considers our everyday lives as pushing a ordinary up a hill and pushing it back down in a never ending cycle right up until death.

The tragedy than it is that were never genuinely conscious of the absurd, and in these moments while we are conscious of the absurd, all of us experience the best moral downfall imaginable. In order to to live in our planet is to live in contradiction. Once we can agree to that the community we live in is ludicrous, we no more need to live for wish or have this dying requirement for purpose Tomo, It means not only taking it nevertheless also getting fully conscious and aware of it, because that is the only way we can enjoy the liberties of lifestyle as long as we all abide by a number of common guidelines Lane, He perceives this as being the ultimate way to accept everything the unreasonable globe has to offer all of us.

This is generally known as absurd independence, when you are alert to the world you live in and are freed from the absurdity. You may then reach a spot of acknowledgement where you can truly feel truly at ease with your own life Lane, This individual considers Sisyphus as being the silly hero, since he functions a meaningless task because he hates death, and so this individual does this worthless task to have to the fullest. He embraces his future and one could truly think that he is satisfied with it. The meaning of your life also is not important about what are the most effective moments of living, or doing precisely what is meaningful towards the individual, but who would the most living.

As individuals, we can eventually weaken and pass away off, and in a world where nothing provides meaning and everything can be repetitive, one who has existed for the longest time frame has genuinely made the most of it. From the two solutions, it is obvious why equally Camus and Taylor thought the way they would. One option was based on doing points in general even though the other centered on living provided that physically feasible. When Camus states the fact that world is very absurd and that none of computer has virtually any meaning, his argument makes sense.

We live in a world where even though our company is creatures that demand thinking and meaning for anything, there is none in the world we could currently in. Taylor confirms to a certain extent, but then introduces his idea of different types of meaning: subjective. He tries to give that means to tasks that give us fulfillment — true subjective meaning, but these same jobs have no objective meaning since they have no end goal. Emotionally, the case is quite the other. Camus lets us know we should accept our destiny and just try to live on this planet intended for as long as we are able to, something just an atheist would willingly accept with grace.

This individual goes on to say as long as you cannot find any end goal is obviously; there is no meaning in life. Yet , many that live their each day lives will not think upon such an emotionless level. A similar can be said regarding the birds and the glowworms. Their lives have no end goal as their lives were simply a limitless cycle, nonetheless it gave them something to do in life — no matter how worthless it may seem to someone seeking from the outside in. The most important stage Taylor makes is that the responsibilities we perform can have meaning to us, nevertheless another individual looking in could start to see the exact same job as being meaningless, and that is to be expected.

This can be seen as living in refusal, but emotions are something humans in contrast to many pets or animals live with on the minutely basis and must be accounted for. Furthermore, although Camus position makes logical feeling, it makes little to be aware of emotional feeling since it would not account for the human aspect of your life. CITATIONS Barnett, Richard.

The locals fought side by side with the forces and captured various strategic and symbolic places of the foreign establishment. The question rises that the rebel actions and nationalized efforts of locals to regain their freedom from the British forces remains acts of revolt and rebellion events.

They fall short of a national movement and a nationwide war for independence. More importantly the actions of the rebels also remained unaccepted as to be noted as the first war of Indian independence. The historians provide various reasons after the review of events and the effects of the war. The major reasons are described as the lack of national motive, bad generalship, and lack of war skills. oberto osellini's "Open City" with regard to the war in ome and "Paisa" for a view of different aspects of the war religious tolerance, sex, inability to communicate and partisan activities, "Seven Beauties" a grotesquely comic alternative view of the war as well as Ignazio Silone, Fontamara for the prewar attitudes and Giorgio Bassani The Garden of the Finzi Contini for the life and attitudes of Jews and gentiles in Italy.

To choose a convenient and current example, when Justin Bieber sings about his "baby," listeners are not meant to hear any kind of deliberate allusion to the Supremes' "Baby Love" or any other previous songs which include "Baby" as part of their lyrical hook: Bieber's charming faux-naivete cannot be mistaken for anything other than a rhetorical willingness to utilize the regular tropes and language of a standard love song. But with some performers, the matter of originality -- together with the question of influence -- is one that must be addressed.

It is important to understand the structural elements of prejudice in a society. It is also important to understand how to deal with prejudice on a personal level. There are many ways to deal with prejudice. One is to fight back, and direct anger and frustration outward. The problem with this method is that fighting back sometimes entails physical aggression, and can be harmful to self and others. Another method of dealing with prejudice is to internalize the sense of inferiority and come to believe in the stereotypes and biased beliefs. The problem with this method is that it only promotes prejudice and allows for its perpetuation.

ace as Social Construct The author of this report has been asked to offer a brief essay on whether race is a social construct or not. Some people associated race with biology. Others assert that there is a marked difference between race and ethnicity and that the two should not be confused. Others still assert that there are certainly sociological and psychological aspects to race and that they cannot be ignored. This report shall explore all of those at a basic level and try to come to answers about all of the above.

While there is certainly a social aspect to race, for just anyone to claim that they are a certain race just does not compute in certain situations. If there are two people that drive home the point that race is at least not entirely a social construct, they would be Shaun King and achael Dolezal. The former…. References Chan, M. In one photographic image used in this news story, the photographer captures a significant moment in the protest in which five individuals together hold up a large banner that has written on it nothing but the hastag and name of the organization BlackLivesMatter. The background of the banner is black and white stripes, which is symbolic and reflects the interracial harmony intended by both the organization and the photographer who captured the image. The third theater of operations, besides the naval and Canadian one, was focused on the ritish push towards the capital city.

Although successfully burning out Washington, the ritish were discouraged by the strong hold of Fort McHenry and the battle of New Orleans, in which they were defeated by Major General Andrew Jackson. As the Treaty of Ghent was signed in December , news of this came to the American and ritish forces almost two months after the signing, putting also an official end to the war. As with altimore's fight, the defense of Fort McHenry, the author reminds the reader of another important information on the significance of this war. The battle of altimore later inspired Francis Scott Key to compose the poem "The Star-Spangled anner" which later became the national anthem of the United States.

It is easy to see Twain's message reflected in real life, particularly in the cases of ethnic conflicts where participants are pitted in age-old hatreds and use religion as a justification for their crimes.

Such was the case of the Bosnians vs. The Serbs and the Protestants vs. The Catholics of Northern Ireland. To pray for victory in war, points out Twain's old man, is to pray for the death of other people: "If you pray for the blessing of rain upon your crop which needs it,…. Furthermore, Faigin maintains that minstrel shows were used for political causes. Some used them to spread abolition and women's rights messages. Others used them to promote the opposite side. In fact, the band that composed Dixie was banned from performing in the North once the song became the Confederate anthem.

Because of their racial subject matter and parodied depiction of African-Americans, the minstrel show can be seen as emphasizing the truly warped views of many Americans during the Civil ar through Civil Rights era. However, some suggest "shows" are still performed today in the case of white rappers or white jazz performers who try to perform a brand of music that was given to the United States by African-Americans "The Minstrel Show". For some, however, these imitation attempts suggest only a unification of cultures and progression into a new era. orks Cited Faigin, Tom. Works Cited Faigin, Tom. argumentative essay topics on education

Unlike other essay forms, it is totally okay—even expected—to use first-person narration in narrative essays. Generally speaking, your narrative essay should be in first-person perspective. Narrative essays also share some features with analytical essays, in which you derive meaning from a book, film, or other media. In an analytical essay, you examine narrative, whereas in a narrative essay you create narrative. The structure of a narrative essay is also a bit different than other essays. To return to the example of an essay discussing your first day of high school and how it impacted the shaping of your identity, it would be weird to put the events out of order, even if not knowing what to do after lunch feels like a stronger idea than choosing where to sit.

One of the best ways to learn how to write a narrative essay is to look at a great narrative essay sample. to get my credentials. I imagine credentials to be a small white card in the band of a fedora. My real interest in credentials is getting into rides and shows for free. I never did go to the state fair, though—I pretty much topped out at the county fair level. Throughout this essay, David Foster Wallace recounts his experience as press at the Illinois State Fair. Wallace is literally telling the audience exactly what happened, complete with dates and timestamps for when each event occurred.

All of these details feed back into the throughline of East Coast thinking that Wallace introduces in the first paragraph. The East Coast existential treat is escape from confines and stimuli—quiet, rustic vistas that hold still, turn inward, turn away. Not so in the rural Midwest. Something in a Midwesterner sort of actuates , deep down, at a public event…. The real spectacle that draws us here is us. The reason this works so well is that Wallace has carefully chosen his examples, outlined his motif and themes in the first paragraph, and eventually circled back to the original motif with a clearer understanding of his original point.

When outlining your own narrative essay, try to do the same. Start with a theme, build upon it with examples, and return to it in the end with an even deeper understanding of the original issue. After a time, tired by his dancing apparently, he settled on the window ledge in the sun, and, the queer spectacle being at an end, I forgot about him. Then, looking up, my eye was caught by him. He was trying to resume his dancing, but seemed either so stiff or so awkward that he could only flutter to the bottom of the window-pane; and when he tried to fly across it he failed. Being intent on other matters I watched these futile attempts for a time without thinking, unconsciously waiting for him to resume his flight, as one waits for a machine, that has stopped momentarily, to start again without considering the reason of its failure.

After perhaps a seventh attempt he slipped from the wooden ledge and fell, fluttering his wings, on to his back on the window sill. The helplessness of his attitude roused me. It flashed upon me that he was in difficulties; he could no longer raise himself; his legs struggled vainly. But, as I stretched out a pencil, meaning to help him to right himself, it came over me that the failure and awkwardness were the approach of death. I laid the pencil down again. In this essay, Virginia Woolf explains her encounter with a dying moth. In the title, Woolf tells us this essay is about death.

However, she mentions that it is mid-September and that the fields were being plowed. In this short essay, she chronicles the experience of watching a moth seemingly embody life, then die. Woolf begins by setting up the transitional fall season, often associated with things coming to an end, and raises the ideas of pleasure, vitality, and pity. At one point, Woolf tries to help the dying moth, but reconsiders, as it would interfere with the natural order of the world. Woolf is able to explore complicated ideas in a short essay by being deliberate about what details she includes, just as you can be in your own essays. On the twenty-ninth of July, in , my father died. On the same day, a few hours later, his last child was born.

Over a month before this, while all our energies were concentrated in waiting for these events, there had been, in Detroit, one of the bloodiest race riots of the century. On the morning of the third of August, we drove my father to the graveyard through a wilderness of smashed plate glass. However, you can see the motifs quite clearly: death, fatherhood, struggle, and race. By introducing those motifs in the first paragraph, the reader understands that everything discussed in the essay will come back to those core ideas. When he talks about his encounters with segregation and racism, he is talking, in part, about his father.

Because his father was a hard, uncompromising man, Baldwin struggles to reconcile the knowledge that his father was right about many things with his desire to not let that hardness consume him, as well. This fight begins, however, in the heart and it had now been laid to my charge to keep my own heart free of hatred and despair. This intimation made my heart heavy and, now that my father was irrecoverable, I wished that he had been beside me so that I could have searched his face for the answers which only the future would give me now. Here, Baldwin ties together the themes and motifs into one clear statement: that he must continue to fight and recognize injustice, especially racial injustice, just as his father did. But unlike his father, he must do it beginning with himself—he must not let himself be closed off to the world as his father was.

And yet, he still wishes he had his father for guidance, even as he establishes that he hopes to be a different man than his father. In this essay, Baldwin loads the front of the essay with his motifs, and, through his narrative, weaves them together into a theme. In the end, he comes to a conclusion that connects all of those things together and leaves the reader with a lasting impression of completion—though the elements may have been initially disparate, in the end everything makes sense. You can replicate this tactic of introducing seemingly unattached ideas and weaving them together in your own essays. By introducing those motifs, developing them throughout, and bringing them together in the end, you can demonstrate to your reader how all of them are related.

Here are a few tips to keep your narrative essay feeling strong and fresh. Motifs are the foundation of a narrative essay. What are you trying to say? How can you say that using specific symbols or events? Those are your motifs. Try to avoid cliches, as these will feel tired to your readers. Instead of roses to symbolize love, try succulents. Keep your language and motifs fresh and your essay will be even stronger! Not so in a narrative essay—in this case, you want to make use of your own perspective. Sometimes a different perspective can make your point even stronger. If you want someone to identify with your point of view, it may be tempting to choose a second-person perspective. If you want a little bit of distance, third-person perspective may be okay.

But be careful—too much distance and your reader may feel like the narrative lacks truth. It keeps you, the writer, close to the narrative, reminding the reader that it really happened. Your essay should be true. Rarely in life do we experience anything with a clear, concrete meaning the way somebody in a book might. Also, nobody expects you to perfectly recall details that may have happened years ago. You may have to reconstruct dialog from your memory and your imagination. Dialog is a powerful tool.
